NBA Champion Will Reportedly Meet With Dallas Mavericks In Free Agency

According to ESPN's Tim MacMahon, the Dallas Mavericks are expected to meet with NBA Champion Bruce Brown once free agency begins.

Bruce Brown is coming off a fantastic season with the Denver Nuggets, where he helped them win the 2023 NBA Championship over the Miami Heat.

During the regular season, the Nuggets were the first seed in the Western Conference, and Brown averaged 11.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 48.3% from the field.

This month, the former Miami star will become a free agent, and ESPN's Tim MacMahon reports that the Dallas Mavericks will likely be among the teams that he will meet with.

Via MacMahon: "Sources: Bruce Brown intends to meet with the Mavs soon after the opening of free agency. Brown is expected to have several suitors and has not ruled out a return to Denver despite the financial constraints. His market is $12.4M midlevel but Nuggets are limited to $7.8M."

Before the Nuggets, Brown also spent time with the Detroit Pistons and Brooklyn Nets.

He is 26 years old and has career averages of 8.5 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.4 assists per contest while shooting 48.2% from the field in 349 regular season games.

Brown played a significant role in the Nuggets winning the title, so he will likely have many teams show interest.

The Mavs have an extremely talented roster that features superstar Luka Doncic, but the team is coming off a disappointing year.

They finished as the 11th seed in the Western Conference and had a 38-44 record, so they missed the NBA Playoffs (and the play-in tournament).
