TRADE RUMOR: Warriors And Kings Interested In 76ers' Player?

According to Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer, the Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings are interested in Matisse Thybulle.

The NBA trading deadline is less than two weeks away (February 9), so there will likely be a lot of movement (and even more rumors) over the next nine days.

On Tuesday, Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that the Sacramento Kings and Golden State Warriors are two teams that have interest in Philadelphia 76ers player Matisse Thybulle (h/t HoopsHype).

Via Pompey's article in The Philadelphia Inquirer: "Multiple NBA sources said the Golden State Warriors have had internal discussions about Thybulle and that they do like him as a defensive stopper. The Sacramento Kings are also reportedly monitoring his availability."

Thybulle was the 20th overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft and has spent his entire career with the 76ers.

He is currently averaging 2.7 points and 1.2 rebounds per contest (in 12.1 minutes of playing time).

Last season, he played 25.5 minutes per contest (and started in 50 out of 66 games), so his role has been diminished this season.

The two-time all-defensive team player will be a restricted free agent this summer (and has a $6.3 million qualifying offer for the 2023-24 season).

At just 25 years old, he has proven to be one of the better defenders in the league, which could give a team looking to make a playoff run a big boost.

The Warriors (26-24) have won the NBA Championship four times out of the last eight seasons and are tied for the fifth seed in the Western Conference.

Meanwhile, the Kings (who haven't been to the postseason since 2006) are the third seed in the Western Conference with a 28-21 record.
