8x NBA All-Star The Golden State Warriors Must Consider

I believe the Golden State Warriors should consider signing eight-time NBA All-Star Dwight Howard.

The Golden State Warriors have won the NBA Championship four times in the previous nine seasons but are coming off a year where they lost in the second round of the NBA Playoffs to the Los Angels Lakers and showed significant weaknesses.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski recently reported that the Warriors made a trade with the Washington Wizards to acquire future Hall of Famer Chris Paul, but the team still lacks size on the roster.

I believe that they need to take a look at eight-time NBA All-Star Dwight Howard.

Why?

Howard was once among the best players in the NBA when he played for the Orlando Magic.

He is a true center who has career averages of 15.7 points, 11.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.8 blocks per contest while shooting 58.7% from the field in 1,242 regular season games.

At 37 years old, he is far removed from him his prime and made his last All-Star Game in 2014.

That said, Howard has proven he has the capability of being an excellent role player on an elite team.

In 2020, he helped the Los Angeles Lakers win the NBA Championship over the Miami Heat, and in 2021 he averaged 8.4 rebounds per contest off the bench for the Philadelphia 76ers.

Currently, the Warriors have no one taller than 6'9", and the team ranked 25th in the NBA for blocks per game (4.0) during the 2022-23 season.

Having Howard as an option off the bench could give them a significant boost, especially in a Playoff series.

The former first-overall pick is a free agent after playing this past season in Taiwan
