What If The Golden State Warriors Signed This 5x NBA All-Star?

Five-time NBA All-Star John Wall is still a free agent.

On Thursday, March 9, five-time NBA All-Star John Wall is still a free agent (after getting waived by the Houston Rockets).

He has played in 34 games this season (with the Los Angeles Clippers) and has averages of 11.4 points, 2.7 rebounds and 5.2 assists per contest.

At this stage of his career, he is no longer the star he once was but is a more than capable backup point guard.

What If The Golden State Warriors Signed Wall?

The Warriors don't have an open roster spot right now because they signed Lester Quinones to a ten-day contract last week.

That said, his contract will expire in three days, or they could waive him.

Wall is one of the best passers in the history of the league and would be able to help facilitate their offense while Steph Curry is on the bench.

Currently, he ranks seventh all-time for assists per game (8.9), which would be an excellent fit for the Warriors' system (they rank first in the NBA with 29.7 APG).

Right now, the Warriors are in the middle of an up-and-down year.

They have won the NBA Championship in four out of the last eight seasons but are just 34-32 in 66 games.

On the road, the Warriors are an abysmal 7-25 in 32 games away from the Chase Center, and the team could use someone like Wall to come in and help rejuvenate them for the final weeks of the regular season.

While the former Kentucky star has been to the NBA Playoffs four times, he has never been out of the second round (or played with a franchise like the Warriors).

Therefore, playing next to players like Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green could bring out the best in Wall.

In addition, he would give them an even better chance at competing for the 2023 NBA Championship.

Wall is 32 years old and has career averages of 18.7 points, 4.2 rebounds, 8.9 assists and 1.6 steals per contest in 647 regular season games.

While it's unlikely, this is a move the Warriors should consider making.
