The 2023 2.4 Hours of Le Mullets provided fans with everything you can ask for and that is a chaos-filled spectacle.

The night's festivities were led off by Cleetus McFarland, monster truck jumps, and a 10-lap Grand Prix that saw the #55 of Josh Hall take the victory, closing the final lap with an insane 129-foot jump off a ramp, something each driver had to do once in the race.

But the main show was the spectacle to see with drivers physically battling it out on a makeshift road course, if you want to call it that.

Qualifying

Qualifying was relatively clean for the most part for drivers, with most of them getting a feel of the track in the process.

Pro Skateboarder and Rallycross driver, Blake Wilkey, along with teammate and NHRA drag racer Alex Laughlin, took home the top spot, although it was better to be last than first, given that the starting field was inverted.

This allowed Jim York and MMA Legend, "Cowboy" Donald Cerrone, to grab the top spot and start the race on the pole.

Race

The first half of the race was caution-filled, with BJ Baldwin, an off-road legend, bringing out the first caution of the evening. Baldwin was teamed with Keith McGee, known for his work in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series with Reaume Brother Racing this past season.

The opening 45 minutes would see some chaos but most of the hard-hitting battles really began in the second half of the race.

One of the more exciting battles of the night was the showdown between Travis Pastrana and Brian Deegan, both of whom saw many restarts side by side late.

Although there wasn't much pushing and shoving between the two, there definitely was a lot of contact all around the top of the grid late, having four cars within inches of each other for the lead position.

The second half of the race would see a three car pileup and the pace car failing, resulting in Cleetus transitioning to his backup cop car.

The #101 of Jesse and Jonathan Hunt The Front, both of whom are dirt late model racers, would grab the victory, holding off legends such as Brian Deegan, who finished second with daughter and now NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Haille Deegan, third-place Leo SXS Blog, fourth-place Ronnie Renner and Travis Pastrana, who rounded out the top-5.

Final Thoughts

Overall, this event provided a little bit of everything. From chaos to excitement to smash-mouth racing, it created what it was, which is a spectacle.

Having big-name extreme sports athletes and influencers in an environment such as the 2.4 Hours of Le Mullets makes for must-watch events and by having it made to be a fun event, rather than serious racing makes you put a different perspective on racing as a whole.

It takes away all the politics and extra nonsense that sometimes can go into racing and lets you enjoy the excitement and fun racing this style brings, something that Freedom Factory did with this event.
