Although the NASCAR Championship weekend has all eyes set on it, another NASCAR track this weekend brought a different set of eyes with Historic Sportscar Racing concluding its 2023 Classic 24 at Daytona.

A weekend that was filled with drama, excitement and memories concludes what is was a truly special three days of racing, competition, friendship and renewing old acquaintances.

It also put some legendary legacy race cars back on the racetrack once again.

The race weekend was quite aggressive (while frowned upon) with drivers going after the chance at taking home a winner's watch and a podium finish.

One of the more notable combos this weekend was the tandem of Adrian Newey, 14-time F1 winning Race Engineer (currently with Red Bull) and Jim Farley, the CEO of Ford.

Both drivers were very dominant in Group A, which featured a mix of cars from the '70s all the way back to the '50s with the "LeMansta" entry.

Both drivers were behind the wheel of a classic 1965 Ford GT40, finishing in the top of their group in each of their four stints and taking home hardware in the process.

Other drivers also found success, especially in the exciting collection that was Group F which featured three DPis (Wayne Taylor Racing #10, JDC-Miller #5, Cadillac Racing #02), two ERA motorsport entries and IMSA GTD entries with the likes of Turner Motorsports.

The #5 JDC-Miller DPi driven by Gérard Lopez was lightning quick all weekend, even against its fellow DPis and did not lose a beat.

However, with a weekend such as HSR's, it can be about highlighting some of the other entries on the grid.

Over the course of the races, fans got a glimpse at true relics including a 1964 Morgan driven by Kenneth Greenberg and even some classic Prototypes and GTPs of old that truly encapsulate racing.

Even Joe Nemechek brought a stable of NASCAR stock cars to the grid, bringing diversity in numbers to the track.

The Classic 24 was truly a racing fan's dream event.
