The FIA has a new target in their crosshairs - Lewis Hamilton. At least, that's what some Hamilton fans are claiming.

It all started when the FIA banned all forms of wheeled transport during the Thursday track walks at Grand Prix weekends, a move that left many drivers, including Hamilton, unhappy. The seven-time world champion has been known to enjoy going around the tracks during these walks on an e-scooter, and the new rule has certainly put a damper on his pre-race routine, as well as others.

Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes fame.

For years, the track walk has been a staple of Grand Prix weekends. Drivers and their engineers complete a lap as they discuss the challenges of the upcoming race. It's a crucial part of their preparation for the weekend ahead.

The track walk period is listed on the official weekend timetable, typically taking place on Thursday afternoons.

The note from grand prix event organisers reads:

“To clarify and to avoid future misunderstanding, the use of any means of transport (bicycles, e-bikes, scooters, e-scooters, etc) is forbidden during the time window stated as ‘Team Track Walks’ on the Event Timetable. No exceptions will be allowed. This decision has been agreed with the FIA.”

But it's not just the bike ban that has Hamilton fans up in arms. They've also accused the FIA of unfairly targeting their champion with the ruling with prohibits drivers from making any personal, political, or religious statements without prior approval.

The British driver has used his platform for many years to speak out on difficult matters, push for increased inclusivity and diversity, and fight against racism.

Of course, it's worth noting that not all Hamilton fans believe that the FIA is targeting their hero. Some see the bike ban as a necessary safety measure, while others believe that the FIA's investigations into Hamilton's behaviour are simply a matter of enforcing the rules.

Either way, it's clear that Hamilton's fans are passionate and protective of their champion. And with the FIA seemingly taking a closer look at Hamilton's every move, it's likely that this debate will continue for some time to come.

One fan commented:

"The agenda against Lewis Hamilton continues"

Someone else commented:

"Always known as the "Anything Lewis is doing we ban" rule"

Other drivers are also unhappy about this rule change. Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc said to Motorsport.com:

"I didn't walk around.

“And as I think they've just issued a new thing where we cannot go around the track with a bicycle you probably won't see me around the track anymore, and I'll just watch the videos!"
