F1 Rumour: Williams Add Gulf Sponsorship Page To Website Ahead Of Car Launch

Williams Racing have sparked further rumours over a sponsorship with Gulf.

Williams F1 team have sparked further speculation over whether they are going to be heading into a sponsorship contract with Gulf.

According to Decal Spotters on Twitter, the team created a sponsorship page on their website just for Gulf before any official announcements have been made and ahead of the car reveal on February 7. They posted:

"UPDATE: Williams have created a partner page dedicated to Gulf - however, the partnership has not yet been officially announced."

Gulf Oil, the iconic motorsport brand, has hinted at a return to Formula 1 after their sponsorship deal with McLaren came to an end at the end of 2022. While their future has not been confirmed yet, rumours are swirling that Williams Racing may be the lucky team to partner with the global oil company.

Gulf sponsored McLaren during the 2020 and 2021 F1 seasons, but now that the partnership has ended, Williams Racing is the favourite choice for the oil giant. The addition of racing driver Logan Sargeant to the team and the sponsorship of Franco Colapinto, Williams' new junior driver, only adds fuel to the speculation.

If Gulf becomes the title sponsor of Williams Racing, it could provide a much-needed cash infusion for the team. This could propel them further up the grid and bring more excitement to the F1 season. With the return of the Gulf brand and the potential of American driver Logan Sargeant on the grid, the future of F1 looks promising.

Williams will be revealing their 2023 livery during an event on Monday 7 February. With this only being a few days away and with the website page being created, it could mean they are set to announce the sponsorship at the same time.

Nothing has been confirmed yet by either Williams Racing or Gulf.
