As the 2024 winter rodeo season is concluding, one thing has become very apparent: The women of the Women's Professional Rodeo Association (WPRA) Breakaway are fast!

In what seemed like week after week record-breaking runs, some clear leaders emerged and went to the top of the World Standings.

One would be remiss if Danielle Lowman weren't mentioned at the beginning of the conversation. The cowgirl from Gilbert, Ariz., has been burning it up every time she backs in the box.

In 2023, Lowman finished the year at the No.10 position after winning just a little bit over $102,000. At a very quick glance, Lowman is setting herself up to far exceed that number and that ranking for 2024.

A very "quick glance" is needed when you talk about Lowman because everything she does is fast. At Fort Worth, Texas, for instance, in the first two rounds of competition, Lowman was 1.8 and 1.6 seconds.

What other sport do you know of that occurs in less than two seconds? Lowman makes it look like child's play. In the semifinals round she played it safe and was 3.0 seconds only to follow up in the finals with a smoking 1.8 second run.

Lowman just keeps at it everywhere she goes. In what might be a world record, Lowman showed off at Austin, Texas, in the second round. Seemingly throwing her loop before she ever left the box, the clock stopped at an incredible 1.5 seconds.

The world of women's roping will never forget the name Jackie Crawford, and you shouldn't either. It comes as no surprise that the 23-time World Champion sits atop the World Standings for 2024 so far after claiming the coveted Rodeo Houston title and $50,000 prize.

With many months left and hundreds of rodeos available, the standings are far from complete, but here is a look at where they stand as of April 3, 2024.
