Less than a week ago, New Balance shared behind-the-scenes footage of the Sports Research Lab showcasing the development of the FuelCell SuperComp Elite v4. Emily Sisson was shown testing out the performance model, which the brand calls its fastest and most comfortable super shoe yet.

Fast forward a few days, and New Balance is celebrating Sisson's qualification for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France. Sisson batted against a stacked women's field at the US Olympic Marathon trials this past weekend and took care of business. The long-distance running phenom was bursting with excitement, gratitude, and relief after she crossed the finish line.

Knowing that anything could happen through 26.2 miles, Sisson stayed confident and focused on what she knew she was capable of to get the job done and book her ticket to Paris.

Sharing the excitement with her New Balance team moments after crossing the finish, Sisson said, "I am so excited to have made the US Olympic marathon team… I cannot wait to toe the line in Paris and compete against the best in the world lining up to represent the US." While this was only Sisson's fourth marathon, she holds the American Marathon record of 2:18.29 from her 2022 Chicago Marathon race.

Sisson is one of the many New Balance athletes that saw great success this weekend. On Sunday, February 4th, New Balance held the 2024 New Balance Indoor Grand Prix at the TRACK at New Balance. Gabby Thomas, New Balance athlete, and two-time Olympic medalist took home first place in the 300-meter race.

Olympic gold medalist Kendall Ellis won the 400-meter in 52.77 in an exciting race that went down to the last 50 meters. Lastly, Elle Purrier St. Pierre placed second in the 3000-meter in 8:25.25, a personal record that fell short of the American Record by only 0.02 seconds in her first New Balance Indoor Grand Prix after maternity leave.

This family of talented women continues to prove that some of the best athletes in the world are represented by New Balance in each perspective category, kicking off the indoor season with a shared goal of booking their ticket to Paris 2024.
