USA Coach Names 25 World Cup Newbies In Squad For Qatar Including Nine Players Based In UK

USA coach Gregg Berhalter will take an inexperienced squad to the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Qatar 2022 will be Berhalter's third World Cup, after he went to the 2002 and 2006 tournaments as a player.

But this will be the first World Cup adventure for 25 of the 26 players in his squad.

Inter Miami right-back DeAndre Yedlin, who featured in three games at Brazil 2014, is the only USA squad member with previous World Cup experience.

Chelsea's Christian Pulisic leads the Premier League contingent, along with Arsenal goalkeeper Matt Turner, Fulham defenders Tim Ream and Antonee Robinson, and Leeds midfielders Brenden Aaronson and Tyler Adams.

Luton keeper Ethan Horvath, Celtic center-back Cameron Carter-Vickers and Norwich forward Josh Sargent are also in the 26.

The USMNT will play Wales in their first group game in Qatar on November 21.
