Jacob Murphy Scores With Incredible Lob As Newcastle Crush Crystal Palace

Jacob Murphy will certainly be among the contenders for October's Premier League Goal of the Month award.

The Newcastle winger scored against Crystal Palace with an incredible lobbed finish in the fourth minute of Saturday's game at St. James' Park.

The goal was assisted by Kieran Trippier, who volleyed the ball into Murphy's path following a cross-field pass from Fabian Schar.

Murphy's route to goal appeared to be blocked by Marc Guehi but the Newcastle man improvised by lifting a cheeky chip over the Palace defender and keeper Sam Johnstone.

The goal was initially disallowed after Trippier was flagged for offside.

However, it was eventually awarded following a VAR review.

Murphy has now scored 10 goals for Newcastle since joining the club from Norwich in 2017.

Newcastle went on to beat Palace 4-0 on Saturday.

After scoring the opener himself, Murphy assisted goals for Anthony Gordon and Callum Wilson. Sean Longstaff was also on the scoresheet.
