San Antonio Brahmas Waive WR Nick Holley, Latest UFL Roster Moves

The UFL shared three more player signings and announced that the San Antonio Brahmas waived wide receiver Nick Holley.

The UFL was mainly focused on the 2024 schedule release, which had fans buzzing about the top matchups this season. That news doesn’t take away from the eight teams still needing to get their rosters set for training camp on Feb. 23.

It was posted on social media Monday night that the San Antonio Brahmas waived wide receiver Nick Holley. The league also shared that three players were signed to UFL contracts:

  • WR Chris Lacy (Birmingham Stallions)
  • WR Dezmon Patmon (Michigan Panthers)
  • RB Jacob Saylors (St. Louis Battlehawks)

Holley has made the rounds in spring football in the XFL as last season, playing for the Brahmas and Houston Roughnecks. He finished the year with 14 receptions for 192 yards and one touchdown. Holley played for the Roughnecks in 2020, making 21 receptions for 267 yards and two scores. He also played in the CFL for the Calgary Stampeders, catching 10 passes for 105 yards.

Lacy joins the UFL for the first time after six seasons in the NFL. His playing time came with the Detroit Lions in 2018 and 2019, making three receptions for 60 yards. He played his college ball at Oklahoma State, racking up 63 catches for 920 yards and five touchdowns.

This will also be Patmon's first appearance in spring football after being a sixth-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts. He spent two seasons with the Colts, registering four receptions for 45 yards and one touchdown. Patmon also played for the Buffalo Bills and Carolina Panthers.

St. Louis’ search for Max Borghi’s replacement continues with Saylors signing after spending time with the Cincinnati Bengals and the Atlanta Falcons practice squad for part of the 2023 season. During his college career at East Tennessee State, he rushed for 3,861 yards and 33 touchdowns, while also adding 779 receiving yards and three scores.

The UFL has seen 194 players be signed to teams this offseason.
