We're taking an inside look at the top teams, best players, emerging X-factors and projected finish for each Class 2A boys basketball league around the state of Washington.

Here’s a look at the Class 2A Northwest Conference:

TOP TEAM

Legitimate question: how many programs can lose all five starters and make its reload look as easy as Lynden has? The Brian Roper-led Lions are undefeated in league and have overcome the early speed bumps inherent of a brand new starting lineup. Brock Heppner is a well-rounded leader, and 6-10 junior Liam Hanenberg has come on strong averaging around 19 points and 10 rebounds per game.

PLAYER TO WATCH

Alex Jensen: The 6-foot-1 point guard is a tough defensive assignment, for many reasons, but particularly for his sharpshooting.

KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR

Burlington-Edison isn’t just going to let Lynden own the league. The Christopher Kok-led squad lost in a winner-to-state game last year, and sports the length, athleticism and system that has the Tigers poised to make a run in 2A.

PREDICTED LEAGUE ORDER OF FINISH

1. Lynden

2. Burlington-Edison

3. Lakewood

4. Sehome

5. Anacortes

6. Blaine

7. Sedro-Woolley

8. Bellingham
