Here are SBLive’s Top 20 Arizona high school football rankings for the week of Nov. 9.

Our statewide football rankings, which span all conferences, are released every Monday throughout the 2020 high school football season. The rankings are compiled by SBLive reporter Connor Morrissette.

SBLIVE POWER RANKINGS: ARIZONA TOP 20

Nov. 9, 2020

1. Chandler (5-0)

Last week’s ranking: No. 1

Chandler beat No. 4 Centennial 31-7 two weeks ago. The Wolves led 13-7 at halftime, but an 18-point third quarter made it a blowout. Nicolas Nesbitt scored three touchdowns.

2. Hamilton (5-0)

Last week’s ranking: No. 2

Hamilton beat No. 14 Highland 46-26. Junior quarterback Nicco Marchiol was surgical Friday night, completing 31 of 35 passes for 352 yards and two touchdowns. Junior defensive back Russell Davis II had a key interception.

3. Saguaro (3-1)

Last week’s ranking: No. 3

Saguaro beat No. 12 Casteel 48-20 two weeks ago. The Sabercats dominated a game that was scheduled on short notice because of COVID-19.

4. Centennial (4-2)

Last week’s ranking: No. 5

Centennial beat Brophy Prep 35-3. The Coyotes rolled in their win.

5. Liberty (4-2)

Last week’s ranking: No. 5

Liberty beat No. 20 Pinnacle 36-25. Zaccheus Cooper and Zach Wallace combined to go 70 yards on the ground and score the go-ahead touchdown with 2:16 left. The Lions scored again at the end to ice it.

6. Queen Creek (4-2)

Last week’s ranking: No. 6

Queen Creek beat Red Mountain 36-29. Payton Barlow had two rushes of more than 50 yards to set up early scores.

7. Williams Field (4-2)

Last week’s ranking: No. 7

Williams Field beat Desert Ridge 21-10.

“It feels like we can all trust each other every game and that we’re just bonding more than we did at the beginning of the season,” Williams Field senior receiver Myles Taylor told Brad Falduto after the game. The Black Hawks have won three in a row.

Williams Field beat No. 12 Casteel 31-28 on Oct. 23. The Black Hawks’ two losses are to No. 6 Queen Creek and No. 4 Centennial.

8. Chaparral (2-1)

Last week’s ranking: No. 11

Chaparral beat No. 12 Casteel 53-36. The Firebirds led 34-28 at halftime before tightening up defensively.

9. Corona del Sol (6-0)

Last week’s ranking: No. 9

Corona del Sol beat Dobson 51-0. The Aztecs have outscored opponents 239-40.

10. Desert Edge (6-0)

Last week’s ranking: No. 12

Desert Edge beat No. 18 Sunrise Mountain 26-23. Adryan Lara’s 34-yard touchdown strike to Andrew Patterson was the difference.

11. Salpointe Catholic (4-0)

Last week’s ranking: No. 14

Salpointe Catholic beat Mountain Ridge 38-21. Anthony Wilhite’s 32-yard touchdown put Salpointe Catholic ahead 38-21 late.

12. Casteel (3-3)

Last week’s ranking: No. 8

Casteel lost to No. 8 Chaparral 53-36. After a hot start, the Colts have lost three in a row.

13. Boulder Creek (5-1)

Last week’s ranking: No. 13

Boulder Creek beat Shadow Ridge 49-12. Quarterback Bear Milacek rushed for three first-half touchdowns.

14. Highland (4-2)

Last week’s ranking: No. 10

Highland lost to No. 2 Hamilton 46-26. The Hawks lost two costly fumbles in the defeat.

15. Mountain View Mesa (6-0)

Last week’s ranking: 17

Mountain View Mesa beat Mountain Pointe 27-20. Mountain Pointe had possession down seven with 3:23 left at its 16-yard line, but the Toros got a stop.

16. Campo Verde (3-2)

Last week’s ranking: NR

Campo Verde didn't play last week because of COVID-19. The Coyotes' two losses are to No. 7 Williams Field and No. 11 Salpointe Catholic. Those defeats are by a combined 17 points.

17. Ironwood (4-2)

Last week’s ranking: 15

Ironwood lost to Verrado 60-46. The Eagles' defense struggled in the defeat. Ironwood beat No. 18 Sunrise Mountain 20-11 on Oct. 30.

18. Sunrise Mountain (4-2)

Last week’s ranking: No. 16

Sunrise Mountain lost to No. 10 Desert Edge 26-23. The Mustangs had a chance to win in the fourth quarter but couldn’t get it done.

Sunrise Mountain beat No. 5 Liberty 37-33 on Oct. 16.

19. Mesquite (5-1)

Last week’s ranking: 20

Mesquite beat Marcos de Niza 44-21. The Wildcats led 34-7 at halftime.

20. Pinnacle (2-3)

Last week’s ranking: No. 18

Pinnacle lost to No. 5 Liberty 36-25. Pinnacle led, but two late scores by Liberty resulted in an 11-point defeat for the Pioneers.

Dropped out: Poston Butte

Moved in: Campo Verde
