Congratulations to Lewiston junior Kate Banks for being voted SBLive’s WaFd Bank Idaho High School Softball Player of the Week for March 22-28!

Banks went 4-for-4 in Lewiston’s 16-10 win over Twin Falls.

Banks received 56.6% of the vote, beating out Orofino's Kaycee Hudson who finished second with39.53%. Lakeland's Hailey Gosch finished third with 3.13% and Ridgevue's Maddie McKay finished fourth with 0.31%. There were over 22,000 votes tallied this week!

Here are the other athletes who were nominated for the week of March 22-28:

Sunny Bennion, Sugar-Salem: Bennion went 3-for-4 with six RBI in a 21-12 win over Caldwell.

JamieCarter, Gooding: Carter went 4-for-4 with three RBI in a 21-6 win over Madison.

Jaidyn Inman, Sandpoint: Inman racked up five hits – including three doubles – in a doubleheader sweep of Moscow.

Megan Jolley, Firth: Jolley pitched a complete-game three-hitter to lead Firth to a 7-4 win over Snake River. She struck out nine over her seven innings of work.

Hailey Gosch, Lakeland: Gosch went 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored in Lakeland’s 9-7 win over Ridgevue.

Kaycee Hudson, Orofino: Hudson dazzled on the mound and at the plate in a doubleheader sweep of Priest River. She pitched three one-hit innings in the opener then roped two triples and a double in the second game.

Desarei Kaplan, Nampa: Kaplan went 3-for-4 with three RBI in a 13-3 win over Sugar-Salem.

Maddie McKay, Ridgevue: McKay went 3-for-4 with three RBI in a 13-3 win over Madison.
