Just over a month since Chris Redding stepped down from the head coaching position at Phillip O. Berry Academy of Technology, the Cardinals have found their next lead man.

The school's athletics department announced on Friday afternoon the appointment of Darius Robinson as Phillip O. Berry's new football coach.

The Cardinals are coming off a tough two year stretch under Redding, which saw the program go 4-15 between 2022-2023 seasons. Phillip O. Berry has not finished above the .500 mark since 2011. According to HighSchoolOT.com, the team is returning 19 starters from 2023.

Down below is the announcement by the school on the hiring of Robinson.

"Phillip O. Berry would like to announce the hiring of Head Football Coach, Darius Robinson. Coach Robinson comes to POB from Salisbury High where he was the offensive coordinator. Coach Robinson also previously coached at West Charlotte, Caringer and Butler. He states, "I am excited and optimistic about the future of this program. Looking forward to building relationships with athletes, parents, and the POB community. Welcome to Cardinals Family, Coach!"
