The Ohio outdoor track and field season got off to a brisk start Saturday at the Avon Lake Invitational.
Long sleeves were commonplace on a sunny, breezy day on Lake Erie, especially in the morning events.
The Solon boys won the team meet with 102 1/2 points, while Medina took first on the girls side with 71.
Olmsted Falls' Katie Clute and Lillie Katsaras set meet records in the 1,600 and 3,200, respectively.
Clute ran a 4:59.76 in the 1,600 meters, and Katsaras put up a 11:10.19 to cruise to victory in the 3,200.
Walsh Jesuit's Alexis Steward swept the sprints, winning the girls 100 and 200 meters.
