Congratulations to Columbia River High School freshman Ari Domniti for being voted our Washington Federal Athlete of the Week!

Domniti won both of her varsity doubles matches the week of April 8, teaming up with Grace Rudi in straight set victories over Kelso and Mark Morris.

Domniti received 59% of the vote, with Blanchet's Nathan Prinz coming in second with 27%. Camas' Riley Sinclair finished third with 11%.

Here are the six other athletes who were nominated for April 8-14:

Morgan Flesland, Mt. Spokane softball: Flesland, a sophomore pitcher, tossed a perfect game on April 10, blanking North Central 17-0 in the Greater Spokane League opener for both teams. Flesland struck out 10 and went 3 for 3 at the plate with a triple and three runs scored.

Hailey Grall, Hanford softball: Grall, a sophomore shortstop, helped lead Hanford to its first league victory on April 9, a 2-1 win over Southridge. Grall, who was selected for the Junior All-American Games last summer, played outstanding defense up the middle, knocking down several hard-hit balls to help hold Southridge to just one run.

Nathan Prinz, Bishop Blanchet baseball: Prinz, a junior outfielder, went 4 for 8 with two home runs and seven RBI in three games for Blanchet last week. Prinz hit both home runs in a 17-3 win over Seattle Prep, including a grand slam.

Riley Sinclair, Camas baseball: Sinclair, a junior pitcher, threw a complete game on April 11, leading Camas to an 8-1 Greater St. Helens League win over Union. Sinclair allowed only three hits, struck out six and did not issue a walk.

Jared McAlvey, Walla Walla boys track & field: McAlvey, a senior, helped the Walla Walla boys win the team title at the Pasco Invite on April 13. McAlvey won the 300 intermediate hurdles with a time of 38.89 seconds and placed second in the 110 high hurdles with a time of 14.73. He also helped Walla Walla finish first in the distance relay event by running a leg. McAlvey was named the outstanding male athlete of the meet.

Adaji Osaro-Igwe, Tahoma girls track & field: Osaro-Igwe, a sophomore, helped the Tahoma girls win the team title at the Pasco Invite on April 13. She swept the sprints, racing to victories in the 100m (12.23), 200m (25.08) and 400m (58.28).
