Congratulations to Lummi boys basketball center Tyran Lane for being voted SBLive’s WaFd Bank Washington High School Athlete of the Week for Feb. 14-20!
The senior finished with 14 points, 18 boards, and four blocks in a 68-61 district win over top-seed Crosspoint.
Lane received 54.18% of the vote, beating out Lummi's Duncan Toby who finished second with 16.45%. Colville's Ashne’a Anderson finished third with 11.95% and Yelm's Logan Platt finished fourth with 6.18%. There were over 25,000 votes tallied this week!

DJ Edmondson, Evergreen of Vancouver boys basketball: After a rocky start to the season, Edmonson led the Plainsmen — winners of eight of their last 10 games — in scoring (23 points) when it mattered most: a loser-out game against Mountain View.
Jackson Esary, Kalamaboys basketball: Scored 26 of the Chinooks’ 43 points in a district title win over Morton-White Pass, including a deep banked-in 3 in the final minutes.
Giovanny Evanson, King’s Way Christianboys basketball: Scored a season-high 34 points in a district loser-out matchup with Seton Catholic to send the Knights through to the regional round.
Carson Frawley, Camasboys basketball: Scored 32 points, including a layup in the final seconds to force overtime, in a season-ending loss to Graham-Kapowsin.
Cade Gibson, Ellensburgboys basketball: Scored 25 points — 14 in the fourth — in an eight-point win over Selah in the district tournament Tuesday.
James Grose, Napavineboys basketball: Scored 29 points and pulled down 12 boards as the Tigers beat Ilwaco to secure a regional playoff berth.
Miles Gurske, Timberlineboys basketball: Scored 37 points, pulled down 10 boards and added five assists in a 10-point win over Kelso.
Kaden Hansen, Auburnboys basketball: Scored 22 points in both the district semifinals and finals.
Brooklyn Hicks, Auburn boys basketball: Finished with 20 points, 15 boards and six assists in a district championship loss to Auburn.
Andrew Hommes, Lynden Christian boys basketball: Point Loma Nazarene commit scored 26 points in an 82-53 district win over Sultan.
Amari Jackson, Highlineboys basketball: The 2A KingCo MVP finished a tremendous individual season with a strong outing: 24 points (18 in the first half) and five dimes in a district loss to Bremerton.
Lane Johnson, Adnaboys basketball: Sophomore scored a team-high 21 points against Toutle Lake to secure a regional berth.
Jordan Medcalf, Lynden boys basketball: Hit three 3s on his way to 21 points and added nine boards to lead Lynden to (another) district championship, beating Sehome 76-49 on Friday.
Owen Moriarty, O’Deaboys basketball: Scored 21 points in an overtime loss to Garfield in the Sea-King district championship.
Nick Strecker, Mansonboys basketball: Manson’s season might have ended in the district tournament, but Strecker, a 6-foot senior guard, went out with a bang. Had 32, 27 and 30 points last week.
Duncan Toby, Lummi boys basketball: Scored 25 points, pulled down 11 boards, dished out six assists and had three steals in a 68-61 district tournament win over top-seeded Crosspoint.
Dae’Kwon Watson, Auburn boys basketball: NPSL defensive MVP held Mount Tahoma’s Asjon Anderson, the 3A PCL MVP averaging more than 30 points per game, to just 10 in the district semifinals. Also added 12 points.
Josh Wood, Graham-Kapowsinboys basketball: The Fresno State-bound quarterback — SBLive’s football player of the year — can win on the hardwood, too. Scored 34 points, including key free throws late, to lead the Eagles to a loser-out upset of No. 5 Camas in the 4A District 3/4 tournament.
Logan Platt, Yelm boys wrestling: Platt took 2nd place at the state tournament 2 years ago-and came back and won the 3A Boys 195 lb State Wrestling Title this weekend.
Ashne’a Anderson, Colville girls basketball: The senior wing had a game-high 26 points, and the Crimson Hawks handled Omak to earn the last spot to the 1A state tournament, reports the Spokesman-Review.
Brooke Beresford, Woodinville girls basketball: Seniors Tatum Thompson and Veronica Sheffey get a lot of the attention, but it was the junior wing who dominated most with 16 points, nine rebounds and six blocked shots as the No. 1 Falcons beat Lake Stevens for the district crown.
Alyson Deaver, Sumner girls basketball: The Dixie State signee dominated the WCD semifinal game against Camas with a game-high 29 points (22 in the first half), then had 15 points in leading the Spartans to the district title over Emerald Ridge.
Kylee Fox, Richland girls basketball: The two-time MCC player of the year scored 21 points in the Bombers’ district semifinal upset of No. 2 Pasco, then had 22 points in the title-winning showdown with Chiawana. He sits at 998 points for her career.
Natalie Fraley, Kelso girls basketball: The Utah State signee could not be stopped - a game-high 35 points - as the Highlanders beat Auburn for the 3A WCD title.
Kyra Gardner, Raymond girls basketball: The WSU signee came up big in the Southwest District title game, pouring in 38 points to leads the school to its first district championship since 1991.
Teryn Gardner, Mead girls basketball: The sophomore scored a game-high 25 points, and the Panthers completed an undefeated run to the state tournament by winning the GSL/MCC crossover district title over Hermiston, reports the Spokesman-Review.
Zeta Lee, Mount Tahoma girls wrestling: The dark horse stole the show in the 110 bracket, beating favored Mia Zuniga, 9-0, in the 110 finals to become the school’s first girl state champion.
Isabella Lund, Tumwater girls basketball: The combo guard led the Thunderbirds with 17 points, including three first-quarter 3-pointers, as Tumwater beat Hudson’s Bay to win the Southwest District title.
Taija Mackey, Pasco girls basketball: The senior post player dominated the paint with 25 points in a winner-to-regional, loser-out district game as the Bulldogs sailed past Gonzaga Prep, reports the Spokesman-Review.
Shelby Moore, White River girls wrestling: The 5-time national champion won her first Mat Classic title by pinning her way through the 130 bracket. She finished 26-0 during her junior season.
Isabella Morales, Toppenish girls wrestling: The senior standout not only won her second individual title, winning a 14-0 decision over Ephrata’s Marysol Flores in the 100 finals - she led the Wildcats to their first team title.
Libby Roberts, University girls wrestling: The ninth grader completed her undefeated run in girls competition with a 9-0 win over Clarkston’s Caila Rice to win the 105 state title.
Jenna Villa, Arlington girls basketball: The junior wing scored 21 points in a district semifinal win over Everett, and had 15 as the Eagles clinched the title over Stanwood.
Alivia White, Marysvlle-Pilchuck girls wrestling: Now a two-time state champion, White never had to see a match past the first round at Mat Classic, including a 1:51 pin of Burlington-Edison’s Delaney Cobbs in the 190 finals.
