Angel stadium has been around since 1966 and it has been a firm part of the franchise's history. Through all of the team's name changes, playoff runs, and movements in ownership, it has been there for a long time to give their players a home field.

However, just like many other important decisions regarding LA's franchise, Angel Stadium's fate is in the hands of a familiar face. There is a chance that team owner Arte Moreno could move the Halos to an entire new location. Angel Stadium is at the center of an ongoing dispute between Moreno and city officials.

There have been multiple failed rounds of negotiations between the two parties and even though Moreno told Los Angeles Times that he plans to meet with the committee again, experts are not too confident he'll get a fair deal done.

"The city is now faced with a team permitted to decide whether the lease ends in 2029, 2032,2035, or 2038, and thus empowered to restrict the city’s ability to build on the site for another 15 years.

"For Anaheim, that would appear to be the worst of both worlds: The city has to wait for Moreno to decide what to do with its prize parcel of real estate; and Moreno still could move the team, or sell to someone else who would."

Morton has shared in the past that he would love to make the area surrounding Angel Stadium into an entire attraction. He envisioned many shops, restaurants, and other stadiums where events could be held.

However, there just hasn't been a ton of progress on these talks and Moreno hasn't even confirmed if Angel Stadium is where he wants the team long-term. His commitment has been in question ever since he almost sold the team last year before getting cold feet.

Nonetheless, it will still be quite some time before the possibility of changing stadiums is serious. The Angels have more important things to worry about with the season kicking off this week !
