The Los Angeles Angels have been linked to many of the top remaining free agents on the market.

They've been heavily linked to two of Scott Boras' clients as of late — All-Stars Blake Snell and J.D. Martinez.

While the Snell-Angels saga has been well-documented, on Tuesday, Jon Heyman of the New York Post provided an update on the Martinez-Angels saga.

"Martinez is also said to like the idea of going to the Angels, who also have interest in the player who had 33 home runs, 103 RBIs and an .893 OPS for the cross-freeway Dodgers."

There have been reports about the Angels wanting to keep the designated hitter spot open this year to allow Mike Trout and Anthony Rendon to have pseudo days off where they only have to focus on hitting. However, Martinez is coming off a dominant season for the Los Angeles Dodgers in which he slashed slashed .271/.321/.572 with 33 home runs and 103 runs batted in.

That kind of impact bat would be the perfect replacement for a lineup that's without Shohei Ohtani, and at this point, his price tag probably wouldn't be too high.
