The Los Angeles Angels are reportedly in agreement on a one-year, $9 million deal with free agent reliever Matt Moore, per ESPN's Jeff Passan.

Moore joins Robert Stephenson, Luis Garcia and Adam Cimber as bullpen additions by Perry Minasian and the Halos this offseason.

Moore, 34, had a dominant start to the 2023 season with the Halos. After signing a one-year, $7.55 million deal in the offseason, Moore became one of the more relied-upon members of the Angels' bullpen.

In 41 appearances, Moore had a 2.66 ERA, striking out 49 batters in 44 innings pitched. His ERA was as low as 1.58 in late August.

However, as the Angels tried to shed salary at the end of August, Moore was one of the many players placed on waivers.

He ended up being claimed by the Cleveland Guardians, but was designated for assignment two weeks later and joined the Miami Marlins, where he finished the 2023 season.

Moore had a 3.86 ERA in five appearances with Cleveland, and a 0.00 ERA after pitching four scoreless appearances with Miami.

Now, Moore is going back to Anaheim, a place he clearly felt comfortable in 2023. He'll continue to help a bullpen that was among the worst in Major League Baseball last year, sporting a 4.88 ERA, which was sixth-worst in the league.

Moore and Stephenson will likely factor in as the high-leverage lefty and righty in the bullpen, with Carlos Estévez continuing to close games.

After a quiet start to the offseason, the Angels are starting to make moves as February nears.
