The last week has been a whirlwind for the Los Angeles Angels. Not only did they lose two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani, but they lost him to the cross-town rival Los Angeles Dodgers.

It stings to see him go anywhere else, as he meant so much to this franchise. But the Angels understand this is a business, and that Ohtani made a choice for himself.

Halos general manager Perry Minasian spoke about the team losing Ohtani to the Dodgers.

"He's one of the best players who ever played for this organization. And we understand that. But life goes on. We're going to take the rest of the offseason and work as hard as we can to put a really competitive team on the field."

Losing Ohtani is tough, but it seems that the organization is looking to move on from him as quickly as possible. They still want to field a competitive team for next season

The Angels haven't made the playoffs since 2014, and they are planning to do their best to change that fact. Minasian already said earlier in the winter that they would be aggressive in adding to this roster.

The Angels now owe it to their fans to put their best foot forward for the rest of the offseason. They have a need to build out their starting rotation, possibly bringing in multiple arms to help.

This team already has a few solid, young players on the roster that they can work with, plus stars Mike Trout and Anthony Rendon. The Angels have a decent foundation in place but still have plenty of work to do this winter.
