The inevitable happened for Angels third baseman Anthony Rendon. Halos insider Sam Blum reported that Rendon will be making his way to the injured list once again with a left groin strain.

This will be the third year in a row that the 32-year-old will head to the IL after back-to-back injury-ridden seasons. Rendon has struggled with injuries since becoming a Halo from 2020 to now.

The former World Series champion spoke to Angels insider for OC Register Jeff Flecther and remained optimistic, although it hasn't worked out for him in recent years.

“I don’t think it’s too bad,” Rendon said, “but I’ve thought that in the past too and it’s been a little longer. We’ve just got to come up with a game plan today.”

Rendon also told Fletcher that he's been feeling some discomfort since the series against Milwaukee and expressed that he's frustrated and angry.

The infielder has had a solid 2023 campaign as he is batting .301 with one home run, 20 RBIs, two stolen bases, and a .784 OPS in 103 ABs. The amount of time Rendon will be out is still uncertain, but we're hoping it's not a long one.

Anthony has only played in 105 of the possible 324 games in the past two seasons. It's been a struggle for Rendon on the injury front, and he can't seem to escape it.
