The Los Angeles Angels have been without Anthony Rendon for 21 straight games ever since he went down with a groin injury back in May against the Cleveland Guardians. They have been awaiting his return as they look to continue their playoff push and could use his presence on the infield along with his slugging.

Well it looks like there could not be a more perfect time for him to come back as the Halos are set to face off against the Chicago Cubs at home. LA is coming off of a disappointing series against the Houston Astros where they were almost swept so having a talent like Rendon back is huge. 22-year-old infielder Livan Soto will be moved back to the minors to make room on the roster.

This news was first shared by Rhett Bollinger.

It's great to see Rendon back and healthy especially considering that he and the rest of the Angels' organization wasn't letting anybody know too much about his recovery for the past two weeks. He would give small hints even going as far to say he felt 'amazing' but few official reports came out until team manager Phil Nevin revealed that they were targeting this home series for him to come back.

The pressure will be on Rendon even more so than it has been these past couple of years. Fans are starting to get the impression that when he finally begins to find his footing, BOOM, he gets injured again.

Through 30 games with the Halos in 2023, Rendon was slashing .301/.415/.369 and even though he had only connected on one homer, his power was starting to come back.

His contract is always the first thing that his critics bring up so hopefully he keeps hush now that he is back from injury.
