The Los Angeles Angels were subject to two straight home games against their city-rival Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday and Wednesday and unfortunately walked away with no wins and not even a single run recorded. The likes of Clayton Kershaw and the rest of the Dodgers' bullpen could not be touched and even though some believe the freeway series did not live up to the hype, the stars certainly came to play.

Only four runs were recorded over the two matches and all of them came from the Boys in Blue. Shohei Ohtani nearly matched a career-high on Wednesday when he took the mound and recorded 12 strikeouts. Unfortunately, he nor the rest of his Halos teammates were able to find any success at the plate and one of the runs that The Unicorn gave up was a homer to Freddie Freeman.

Aaron Loup also gave one up to rookie Miguel Vargas, who snapped a huge hitting streak.

The ball was nearly caught in centerfield by Mike Trout but it bounced off the wall and hit him in the face... leaving a slight mark.

Ohtani already opened up in his postgame presser about how he and the rest of his teammates need to be better on offense if they want to compete with the best teams in the league. He knows that him dominating from the mound and only allowing a select amount of runs means nothing if they cannot score.

On a brighter note, he did say that he feels amazing pitching right now and I'm sure that everybody watching could tell.

One person that definitely was taking notes was Dodgers' manager Dave Roberts. He had a lot of fun watching Ohtani pitch against his squad and detailed his amazement as him being a fan at times.

“I was sort of a fan tonight,” Roberts said, “watching him throw 100 pitches and to focus like he did for 100 pitches, really kept us at bay, you could argue dominated us. And to go out there and take four at-bats and still have competitive ABs, it’s just remarkable to watch.”

The Athletic just released a players poll where majority listed the Dodgers as Ohtani's next likely home. We are still some time away from free agency so it looks like Roberts is just appreciating greatness right now!
