On Monday, the Angels announced the activation of reliever Zack Weiss who takes the roster spot of trade deadline acquisition Reynaldo Lopez who was placed on the bereavement list on Sunday following the passing of a loved one.

Weiss joins the active roster for the fourth time this season.

The journeyman has a 5.06 ERA in 6 scattered appearances with the Halos this year and a 5.79 ERA lifetime over 19 games.

Angels manager Phil Nevin said on Sunday that the club was unsure of when Lopez would rejoin the club. In 4 games since being acquired from the White Sox at the trade deadline, he's allow one run over 5 innings.
