The Los Angeles Angels made an exciting move early in the season by promoting one of their top prospects, Sam Bachman. The 23-year-old right-handed pitcher made his debut on Friday night, and he showcased his talent with a solid performance. Bachman pitched two innings, allowing four hits, one earned run while recording two walks and four strikeouts.

The 23-year-old was beyond excited for his first opportunity in the big leagues and told Angels beat writer Rhett Bollinger that he couldn't wait to call his loved ones to inform them about the call-up.

“Oh yeah, I called every one of them and they all answered,” Bachman said with a smile. “At first, they were worried, but then were excited to hear I got the call. Not a lot of people slept that night, including myself. But it was great and still feels surreal.”

Bachman is the Halos' number-five prospect in their farm system and was the ninth overall pick in the 2021 MLB Draft. he did solid in his debut and expressed how it was a dream come true.

“I was just super excited,” Bachman said. “It was a dream come true and I just tried not to fall down out there on the way to the mound. But it was a great experience.”

We're not sure how long he will be in the big leagues, but one thing is for sure, he's going to make the best out of it. He has spent the last two seasons with the Angels' double-A affiliate, Rocket City Trash Pandas. This season, he has gone 3-2 with a 5.81 ERA, 29 strikeouts, and 1.33 WHIP in 6 games and 26.1 innings pitched.

With time and experience, Bachman has the potential to make a significant impact and contribute to the team in a big way.
