The Los Angeles Angels made a slew of roster moves on Thursday, bring back Jared Walsh and David Fletcher to the MLB roster. The team transferred Luis Rengifo to the 60-day IL, and designated Gerardo Reyes for assignment.

Additionally, rookies Jordyn Adams and Kyren Paris were optioned to Triple-A.

This is a massive move for the Halos, but solely has to do with money. Walsh and Fletcher were going to be paid no matter what this year since they're on MLB deals, so the team is recalling them so they don't have to pay Adams and Paris the rest of the year and have them go against the luxury tax.

Walsh has struggled mightily this year coming back from injury, while Fletcher had a rough go in 47 games with the Halos this season.

Walsh hit .119 in 67 games with one home run and five runs batted in. As for Fletcher, he hit .213 with one home run and eight runs batted in.

Adams and Paris never really got going in the majors this year, as Adams hit .156 and Paris hit .094 in 15 and 13 games, respectively.

The Angels are doing everything they can to save money and dip under the luxury tax this year.
