Angels News: Kenny Rosenberg's Patience Finally Paying Off

Showing his stuff late in the year.

Though the Angels are set for another year without postseason baseball, some of the team's September call-ups are making an impression filling in for injured veterans who are done for the year.

One of these players is Kenny Rosenberg who's paid more than his fair due in the minor leagues and is now showing just what he's made of at the major league level.

“It’s a lot of fun,” Rosenberg said. “I always felt like I could be a starting pitcher at this level. I'm 28, and sometimes you just have to be patient. I've had almost 600 innings in the Minor Leagues and a lot of starts under my belt. So even though technically a rookie, I've been doing this for a long time.“And I have the utmost confidence in my ability to get these guys out.”

Rosenberg got the opportunity to start some games with many on the Halos' roster sidelined for the season and pitched well in his first two starts.

Picking up where he left off after a shakier recent outing against the Tigers, the rookie shut out the Twins over five frames to secure a .500 record with just a week remaining in the year.

Tossing at least five innings in each of his first four outings with Anaheim, Rosenberg's time in the minors is certainly paying off for his cup of coffee on the big league squad.

It remains unclear what part, if any, Rosenberg will play into next year's Angel roster, but the seasoned minor leaguer is certainly helping his case with some efficient performances to start his major league career.

One of the few bright spots of a dismal second half for the year at the Big A, Rosenberg is in great spirits for his performances to start his time in The Show.
