There has been new life in the Los Angeles Angels ever since Mickey Moniak was called up from the minor leagues. He continues to make huge plays in the outfield and step up when it matters most at the plate.

Few players can say that they bat leadoff for two of the game's biggest stars in Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout but he has been able to do so at a spectacular rate. Moniak has been able to slash .429/.448/.893 in just nine games with the Halos to go with his three home runs.

Oh yeah... and his most recent dinger was a go-ahead punch that lifted LA over the Red Sox in the seventh inning of their most recent win on Monday. Both teams were stuck at 1-1 for some time but Moniak was not about to allow his squad to start off the week sad.

Re-live the moment with us down below!

This 25-year-old continues to be fearless and is loving his new tenure in LA thus far. He's already made it clear just how special it is to be able to play in front of friends and family so much and appreciates the opportunity that has been given to him.

And this ninth game of his Angels career just may be his favorite one so far.

“It felt great,” said Moniak. “It’s a hard feeling to describe. Playing this game, stuff like that is what you strive to do, and it doesn’t get much better than hitting the go-ahead homer late in the game. It was a good one. Probably one of my favorite ones I’ve hit so far.”

LA has now improved to 26-23 on the season and continue to inch their way back towards the Texas Rangers and Houston Astros. Everything kind of came crashing down when they lost both series against those clubhouses a few weeks ago but they're finally finding a rhythm again.

Their week consists of their current series against the Red Sox and then a second against the Miami Marlines. They must conquer each game and if Moniak holds up, we'll continue to have a great time.
