Angels News: Mike Trout Says He’s a ‘Big Fan’ of New Nike Jerseys

Mike Trout approves of the new Nike jerseys.

The new Fanatics-manufactured Major League Baseball jerseys have gone viral — and not in a good way.

Nike, which designs uniforms for the league, did a trial run with the new 2024 uniforms at the 2023 All-Star Game. There, Los Angeles Angels center fielder Mike Trout offered his opinion on the new threads with a post on social media.

The All-Star Game uniforms weren't exactly the same as the ones that have been foisted upon players in spring training.

Now, the lettering used on the nameplate on the back of every jersey is smaller. The fronts of the jerseys were altered slightly, affecting where the wordmark across the front splits when unbuttoned. The pants aren't as customizable as before, either.

The pants are also see-through. Just take a look at the below post from the Angels on media day:

Trout is a Nike athlete and released his ninth signature shoe in November. Maybe there's a dash of earned brand loyalty behind his sentiment.

At this point, however, it is what it is — and it is Mike Trout-approved.
