Angels two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani will enter his sixth season in Orange County. The Japanese sensation has already established himself as one of the greatest baseball players ever. However, the overall team success has been non-existent.

Still, there is a lot of hope surrounding the Angels and their potential alongside Ohtani and superstar outfielder Mike Trout. 2023 will be a massive year for the Angels and Ohtani, as it could be his last year in red and white.

Ohtani's 2022 season was terrific, and he would have secured his second MVP if it wasn't for Aaron Judge's monster season. The odds of anyone having another season like that are low, which is why the Athletic MLB writer Jim Bowden predicts the lefty slugger will take home MVP honors in 2023.

"Ronald Acuña Jr. and Shohei Ohtani are named MVPs of their respective leagues. Ohtani not only wins his second MVP award; this one will be the start of three consecutive MVP honors."

This is not a huge shock. It's clear as day that Ohtani is the best player in baseball, and he will be for a very long time. However, Bowden also predicted something else for the 28-year-old; Angel fans, it's not what you want to hear.

"Shohei Ohtani enters free agency and becomes the second half-a-billion-dollar player in MLB history as he secures an 11-year contract with the Dodgers."

That would be the worst thing for the Halos and their fan base. To lose their franchise player to their neighbors up the 5 freeway. The big-bad Dodgers, who have money to blow and All-star after All-Star; what a nightmare that would be.

At the moment, The New York Mets have the best odds to land the two-way star at +300, while the Dodgers have the third-best odds at +450, according to Bookies. As for the Angels, they're not on the list; however, that can change if they turn things around and win baseball games. All eyes will be on Shohei and the Angels this season.
