It's no question that Angels outfielder Mike trout is still regarded as one of the best baseball players. The dude is a six-tool player, if there was one, and has been dominant from the moment he entered the league.

He was 19 then, and now, as a 31-year-old veteran, he has the same goal: win the World Series. That's a tall task for the righty slugger considering the Angels have better odds of not making the playoffs than winning the World Series.

However, something not outside of the realm of possibility for Trout is to win AL MVP. MLB insider and USA Today columnist Bob Nightengale believes he will do just that in 2023.

AL MVP: Mike Trout, Angels

If Trout were to win another MVP, he would surpass Yankees legend Joe DiMaggio for the most MVPs in the American League. DiMaggio last won his MVP in 1947.

As for Trout, he last won an MVP in 2019, slashing .291/.438/.645 with a 1.083 OPS and high a career-high 45 homers while driving in 104 runners.

The oddsmakers at Vegas Insider feel differently about Trout capturing his fourth AL MVP. Mike currently has the third-best odds to win MVP at +800. Last year's MVP, Aaron Judge, has the second-best odds to win MVP at +700, and the run-away favorite is none other than Mike's teammate, Shohei Ohtani, at +220.

Winning another MVP would be nice for the superstar; however, Trout is past that and needs to compete on the MLB's highest stage.
