Shohei Ohtani has a luxury that not many other starting pitchers do in this league. If he happens to be having a less than ideal outing at the mound one day, he will still likely have four to five at-bats to make up for his production. Even though it takes a lot out of him to be relied on heavily at both positions, this is definitely one of the positive things about his role.

We most recently saw this in the Los Angeles Angels' 5-4 win over the Seattle Mariners on Friday where he struggled to keep his pitch count down and ultimately gave up three earned runs. Ohtani only stayed on the mound for five innings and his ERA is now a 3.32 on the year.

However, he was able to connect on a two-run homer in the third inning and finished the night with three hits and two RBI's... talk about picking up the slack!

Owning Up To It All

Nonetheless, we know at this point that Ohtani never focuses on what went well for him and rather takes notes on what he has to do better. LA is in a very important stretch of their season that can propel them on a serious playoff run and it all starts with him.

The 28-year-old star commented on his recent struggles and specifically hopes to be more efficient with his pitches moving forward.

"Shohei Ohtani on his poor command of late: "More than the command itself, I feel like it's the way I'm moving my body. I feel like I'm being less efficient moving my body."

We have all the trust in him of course and know he will figure out his rhythm again soon!
