We see it all the time and even more so now that the pitch clock has been implemented... wild pitches lead to batters getting hurt and potentially having to miss some times. Our own Shohei Ohtani was on the receiving end of this in the Angels' Monday outing against the Chicago White Sox.

The 28-year-old superstar stepped up to the plate looking to get off to a far better start than he the previous weekend against the Miami Marlins where he went just 1-12 in his at bat's. Unfortunately, Michael Kopech did not get off the best start himself at the mound for Chicago and hit Ohtani in the shin with one of his free throws.

Ohtani stepped off for a bit and got assistance from LA's physical trainers as he was clearly in pain but luckily did not have to leave the game.

"Shohei Ohtani was hit in the shin, it appeared. And he's in some pain. Getting looked at by trainers, but he'll stay in. Michael Kopech hasn't been throwing strikes early on and Ohtani got the brunt of it."

This allowed all Angels fans in attendance to take a big breath of relief. After getting swept by the Marlins, an injury to their superstar was the last thing they needed.

And Ohtani's teammates certainly wanted to respond to this in a fiery manner as they connected on not one, but two homer runs right after this. Thank you Brandon Drury and Matt Thaiss.

Have a look for yourself!
