Somehow, despite all of his success in his career, Shohei Ohtani remains one of the more humble superstars in the world. He has defied what people believed was possible, and it has made him into the biggest show in the game today.

Ohtani put together one of the best seasons from any player in recent memory, and it helped him earn his second unanimous American League MVP award. He is the only player in baseball history to win the award unanimously twice, and he continues to get better each season in the big leagues.

Even after winning the award, Ohtani stayed humble, and he seems completely okay to let his on-the-field play do the talking for him. He excelled at his two-way abilities once again this season, showing that he isn’t slowing down.

At the plate this season, he hit .304 with 44 home runs and 95 runs batted in. He led the league in WAR, sitting at an astonishing 10.0 for the season.

On the mound, he was great as well, posting a record of 10-5 to go along with an ERA of 3.14 over 23 starts. He also added in 167 strikeouts over 132 innings of work.

Unfortunately, he suffered a torn UCL, so he will not pitch in 2024, but the hope is that he will return to the mound in 2025. He will still perform as a hitter next season and likely will put up incredible numbers at the plate once again.

It was a successful season for the two-way superstar, and now we all will be waiting to see where he will sign in free agency. Ohtani is expected to receive the largest contract in MLB history, and whichever team signs him will be getting one of the biggest stars in the entire world.
