Although what he did in Sunday's 2-1 win over the Houston Astros isn't historic by nature, he still hit a mammoth home run -- a shot that proved to ultimately be the winning run -- good enough for his American League leading 41st homer of the season.

He hit a hanging slider 448 feet to center field, hit it on top of the batter's eye in Minute Maid Park, and rocketed it 110.2 MPH off the bat for one of his biggest home runs of the season.
The home run itself was majestic, but this view of it is glorious.
As a rule of thumb, slow motion missiles always look spectacular, and this one is no exception.
It's another statement of a shot that's sure to be Ohtani's second MVP season, as he's hitting for a major league high 1.073 OPS and an incredible .408 on-base percentage.

Yeah, those sure look like MVP numbers to me, but that home run?
