Angels Reportedly Still An Option For Free Agent Superstar Pitcher

Los Angeles reportedly still is in the mix for a superstar pitcher

One of the best pitchers in baseball still is looking for his next opportunity.

Free agency has moved extremely slowly this offseason, and 2023 National League Cy Young Award winner Blake Snell still is available despite a stellar campaign. He is looking for a massive contract and hasn't been able to find a deal he is looking for yet.

It's unclear where he will land at this time, but the New York Yankees reportedly have offered him a contract, and the Los Angeles Angels and San Francisco Giants still could be options as well, according to MLB.com's Mark Feinsand.

"Blake Snell has an offer on the table from the (New York Yankees), per source, though the Angels and (San Francisco Giants) remain possibilities for the reigning (National League) Cy Young winner,"

Per Mark Feinsand of MLB.com

Snell would make a lot of sense for the Angels. Los Angeles lost its top pitcher this offseason, Shohei Ohtani, but landing Snell could help fill the hole. The 31-year-old led the National League with a 2.25 ERA in 2023 as a member of the San Diego Padres.

Los Angeles still has plenty of money to spend and some holes on the roster that need to be filled. Landing someone like Snell could go a long way in completely changing the narrative about the Angels.

If the Angels could land Snell and follow up by adding a designated hitter like J.D. Martinez, the club could surprise some people. Snell is still out there and could help the Angels, but if they want to get a deal done, they may need to act fast.
