We often see players have one great season where everything just clicks for them, but then they fall back into mediocrity. It’s extremely difficult to make it to the big leagues, and once a player does, it’s even harder to stay there.

The competition is sky-high, so players have to be at their best at all times. It can be a really challenging thing to ask, but it’s what separates the big leaguers from others.

For Los Angeles Angels outfielder Jared Walsh, he has learned all too well about this fact. Walsh was an All-Star back in 2021 but has since struggled to find his footing in the league.

He has played in only 31\2 games this season with the Halos, but he is being given another shot to show what he can do. Walsh was called back up a few days ago and will be granted the chance to play down the stretch of the season with the Angels out of the playoff picture.

“He’s going to get to play the next two weeks,” Angels manager Phil Nevin said. “Whether it’s in the outfield, DH, first. He’s going to get his opportunities. It’s nice to see him have a clear head and in a good place. He went through a lot. It took him a while to find some things.”

Walsh believes that he can get back to his All-Star form, but he knows it won’t be easy. He just wants a chance to prove himself.

“Hell yeah,” he said when asked if he can get back to his 2021 form. “Hell yeah.”

If Walsh can get back to form, it would be massive for whatever team he lands with this winter. He is scheduled to be a free agent, so these next few weeks could be a mini showcase to show what he can do.

Hopefully, he can regain his form soon. He was a special player to watch just a couple of years ago, so maybe we will get to see it again.
