With the Angels' recent winning ways, they have moved away from being sellers and are looking to be buyers now at the trade deadline next week. If you didn't believe it, they made it clear on Wednesday night, when they made a blockbuster trade to acquire Lucas Giolito and Reynaldo Lopez from the White Sox.

The team hasn’t seen the postseason since 2014, and they want to change that. Ohtani will be a free agent this winter so they need to show him that they can win.

He has spoken multiple times that winning is his biggest priority, and many believe that he will leave the organization when he has the chance.

Before the Wednesday night blockbuster, MLB insider Jim Bowden predicted the Halos would buy this deadline... he was right.

“Perhaps their situation changes at the deadline, but if the Angels stick with their current stance, expect them to be buying on the edges before Aug. 1, instead of selling, like they should.”

Per The Athletic

The Angels have decided to go for it, and it's the right decision. This could be the last period that they will have Ohtani and Mike Trout on the same team, so they're trying to make a postseason push.

They should be getting Trout back sometime in August and he will be the biggest upgrade of them all.

With Giolito and Lopez on board, the Angels are still looking for more. This deadline could be crazy, and the Angels expect to be at the forefront of that.
