The Los Angeles Angels continue to show that their bullpen is a priority this winter. They just signed left-hander Adam Kolarek to a one-year contract, and now they are reportedly interested in bringing in a solid veteran arm, as well.

MLB insider Jon Morosi is reporting that the Halos are looking into former Tampa Bay Rays reliever Robert Stephenson this offseason. There are multiple teams involved here, but the Angels are expected to be players.

Stephenson spent the second half of last season with the Rays, posting an ERA of 2.35 in 42 games. He pitched 38.1 innings and struck out 60 batters along the way.

His success with the Rays was a complete turnaround from his early season struggles while with the Pittsburgh Pirates. In 18 games, he posted an ERA of 5.14 over 14 innings.

He turned things around for himself and showed what he could do while on a contending team. This should bode well for him on the open market, and the Angels would be a good landing spot.

The Halos have a need in their bullpen for more quality arms, and they want to be aggressive in upgrading their entire roster. Stephenson would be a good signing for the team, and he would bring veteran experience to the table.

This is certainly something to watch going forward, and it seems that the Angels are doing their part in trying to build a contending team!
