Even the greatest pitchers of all time will have their slip-ups and Shohei Ohtani is no exception to this. He is off to a stellar start to the 2023 season as in seven outings on the mound, he is posting a 2.54 ERA and a 0.872 WHIP.

Ohtani also recently tied a career-high in strikeouts in just one game with 13 against in a recent matchup against the St.Louis Cardinals and as long as the Halos' offense takes care of business, LA wins most games that he's the starting pitcher.

The 28-year-old has fallen in love with the slider this year and he's been able to terrorize the MLB's best batters with it. In 39 innings pitched, he's allowed just 16 hits and 11 runs.

But like I said, Ohtani has also witnessed his fair share of mistakes through his hot first stretch of the season and opposing players have taken the worst of them.

The Unicorn has thrown a decent amount of pitches in his first month with the franchise this season and he's been hitting batters at an alarming rate. In fact, no Angels pitcher has matched his number since the 2015 season.

"Shohei Ohtani has hit 7 batters in his last 6 starts and is the first Los Angeles Angels pitcher to do that since 2015."

However, considering that Ohtani takes as much pride in his batting as he does his pitching, this is not too big of a concern. The Angels are playing some spectacular baseball right now and he is at the top of the MVP race.

I am very confident that he will adjust and this streak will die down. He has been adjusting and improving his entire career.
