The former Angels' draft pick will join Detroit for spring training.

Former Los Angeles Angels catcher Anthony Bemboom will join the Detroit Tigers for their Major League camp.

Tigers minor league insider Emily Waldon reported on the news.

Bemboom is one of 18 players invited to Tigers camp and one of eight position players.

Bemboom was drafted by the Halos in the 22nd round with the 687th overall pick in the 2012 MLB Draft out of Creighton University. he spent four years with the organization from 2012-2016 and returned to Anaheim from 2019-2021.

He played in 51 games for the Angels, where he slashed .169/.235/.274 with a .509 OPS, four home runs, and 10 RBIs. In the middle of the 2021 season, Bemboom was designated for assignment.

The 34-year-old signed a minor league deal with the Orioles following the 2021 season and was in Baltimore for the next two seasons. He then elected for free agency in October 2023.

Bemboom is starting a new journey with the Tigers, and we wish him the best this spring training.
