The son of Angels legend Troy Percival will be making his way back to the organization. Righty pitcher Cole Percival has signed with the Halos organization after being released by the Dodgers earlier this week.

Percival seems excited by the move as he shared this video via Instagram.

The 2017 Draft pick was taken by the Arizona Diamondbacks but never played for any of the Arizona affiliates. He was signed as a free agent in 2020 by LA and pitched for the Great Lakes Loons and the Tulsa Drillers. In his minor league career, Cole is 8-5 with a 4.51 ERA, 141 strikeouts, and a 1.50 WHIP in 69 games and 149.2 innings.

Cole could take a page from his father's page as he cemented himself as one of the great Angels pitchers. Troy spent 10 seasons in Anaheim and was a three-time All-Star and a World Series champion in Angels Red. It'll be tough to replicate what his father did, but the expectations won't be there.

The young Percival will come back to where he saw his father become a champion, and we're happy to have him back. We'll see what kind of a role he plays and continues to develop.
