Around noon on Friday, a video was released of the Los Angeles Angels' third baseman Anthony Rendon involved in a dispute with an Oakland Athletic's fan. Rendon was leaving the A's stadium following a 2-1 loss when the fan reportedly yelled inappropriate slurs at him.

The 32-year-old followed up by grabbing the fan by his shirt collar and accusing him of slander. Rendon referred to him with slurs as well and attempted to hit the fan as he let go. It was not the best look for either of them, but especially Rendon because the video only show his side of things.

If you have not seen the video yet, take a look for yourself.

We have now received an update from the MLB themselves who are investigating this situation to determine if any disciplinary action is needed for either or both parties.

"Major League Baseball says it is investigating a confrontation between Angels third baseman Anthony Rendon and an Athletics fan at Thursday's season opener in Oakland."

"We are aware of the video and we are now looking into the matter," MLB said in a statement.

We have seen interactions between fans and players grow over the years and many haven't been good ones. Professional athletes feel that certain people attending the games get too comfortable with their criticism and forget that they have to respect them like anybody else.

However, even if what Rendon is saying is true, better self-control is needed on his end. His entire team and coaching staff were there with him and even though it can be viewed as unfair, he is the professional in this setting and needs to represent the Angels better.

Rendon is set to speak to the media before LA's game on Saturday so we should have more updates soon.
