A former Angels pitcher has found his new home.

Former Halos reliever Chris Devenski, DFA'd last week, signed a major league contract with the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday, per Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times.

Devenski logged a 5.08 ERA in 29 appearances for the Angels before being waived.

He'll join a Tampa Bay Rays team that comfortably holds an American League Wild Card spot, and trail the Baltimore Orioles by just a few games in the AL East.

For the Angels, they're looking toward the future after an incredibly disappointing August.

They started the month just three games out of a playoff spot before preceding to go 8-19 in August to fall out of postseason contention, as they're now 12 games out of a Wild Card spot with just 28 games remaining.

That poor run led to the team releasing multiple players including prized trade deadline acquisition Lucas Giolito.

Devenski, meanwhile, will try to find his legs again back east in Florida, and he'll join a team that has all but officially locked up a trip to the postseason.

The 32-year-old right hander has some postseason experience with the Houston Astros, and he pitched in the 2017 and 2019 playoffs with the organization, winning a World Series with Houston in 2017.

We wish the best of luck to him going forward.
