Mickey Moniak just had one of the best birthdays, season debuts, and plate appearances all in one go.

Finally, it was announced that the Los Angeles Angels would be calling Moniak up after he had been sent to the AAA following a solid Spring Training. It was revealed that he would leadoff for the Halos on Saturday against the Cleveland Guardians and he gave us the best possible start to the game.

Mickey Moniak... you are him.

It is crazy to think that he is still just 25-years-old and many were giving up on him. He was the former number one overall pick in the 2016 draft and even though his career hadn't panned out perfectly yet, he appears ready with the Angels.

This first 2023 highlight already placed Moniak in the record books for LA.

I was just writing about how I believe that Moniak could be a much-needed spark and comeback story for the Halos this season. They have been very solid up to now and even though they dropped the ball against the Rangers and Astros, there is still a lot to be excited about.

But look at the poise from Moniak. He was given up on by the Phillies after being slated as their franchise guy. When he got sent to the Salt Lake Bees, he responded with eight home runs and 23 RBI's rather than moping.

Keep this man as leadoff hitter moving forward, happy birthday Mickey!
