Watch: Astros Closer Pressly Notches Save as Team USA Advances to WBC Quarterfinals

Houston Astros closer Ryan Pressly closed out the game for Team USA on Wednesday night against Colombia and sent his team to the World Baseball Classic quarterfinals.

With the game on the line, there's no better closer in the league than Houston Astros right-handed reliever Ryan Pressly.

Pressly proved just that on the world stage on Wednesday night as Team USA held onto a slim 3-2 lead heading into the bottom of the ninth against Colombia in pool play of the World Baseball Classic (WBC).

And it was Pressly's moment to shine, as Houston's outstanding closer notched a big save for Team USA as the Americans advance to face Team Venezuela in the WBC quarterfinals on Saturday, March 18 at 6 p.m. CST on FS1.

Pressly needed just 11 pitches (eight for strikes) to pick up the save, allowing a questionable called-hit with two outs and striking out one.

Watch the final out to give Pressly the save below.

It was a tight game from start to finish, as Colombia took a brief 2-1 lead after three innings before Team USA regained and sustained the lead for good, 3-2, on a two-out, two-run single by Mike Trout.

Trout drove in all three runs for Team USA in the American's win.

Watch Trout's two-run single to give Team USA the lead for good below.

Trout, Pressly and the rest of Team USA return to the ballpark this weekend in a win-or-go-home matchup against Venezuela.

And the Americans will need to play much better than they did on Wednesday night if the expect to move on to the semifinals.

It's going to take everything Team USA has in the tank to advance, but the talent is definitely there.

Time to raise the bar, Team USA.

The Americans can win it all, but that starts with a win on Saturday.
